Insurance Litigation – Our Practice
Our firm serves as plaintiff’s counsel for insurance companies exercising rights of subrogation and as defense counsel for insurance companies and their policy holders in a wide range of claims.
The sheer volume of our case load requires constant development and refinement of methodologies for the efficient processing of each claim. This means effective communication between counsel, client and witnesses, quick access to data, streamlining case work to avoid unnecessary pleadings, court appearances and motion practice, using templates for routine correspondence and court filings, and timely decision-making whether to settle, mediate, arbitrate or litigate a given matter.
We maintain notes on computer to keep track of every file in the office and chronicle ongoing communications, litigation events and our developing work product. We use spreadsheets to record additional data on each case. When needed, we scan and digitally store documentary evidence. All this allows for immediate access to information at the desk top without having to touch the manual file.
More and more we turn to government and corporate websites to locate necessary parties and witnesses, social media to gather information relevant to a particular case, and mapping/site-viewing websites to analyze accident scenes and compile trial exhibits.
But not everything can be done on computer! Since we are in court regularly and have hundreds of cases pending all over the state, our firm has developed a network of attorneys to cover routine hearings throughout Massachusetts.
